Nativity of the Virgin Mary
Midwest Diocese of the OCA
Madison, IL 62060-1456
Welcome to Our Parish!

As Baptism marks the beginning of our life in Christ, we all were introduced to a Mission. Our goal is to call others and to become full participants in the Love of God, sharing in God's Kingdom both here and now, and that which is to come.

About Our Parish

We are a parish of the canonical Eastern Orthodox Churches within the jurisdiction of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA). Our parish demographics include persons from a range of generations and ages: infants and young children, young married couples, middle aged couples and individuals, and those of retirement age. The ethnic makeup of the parish consists of a varied background made up primarily of either Eastern European descent or Western/Northern European descent. Services are in English.

Learning More About Orthodox Christianity

Are you curious about Orthodox Christianity? Do you have questions about what the Church teaches regarding contemporary/personal issues? Want to find out more? Consider visiting our parish and worship with us, and also consider attending our Inquirer's Class. Beginning Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 3:30 P.M. - each Saturday thereafter at the same time, we will meet in the basement of the Church and explore Metropolitan Kallistos Ware's book "The Orthodox Way" (available here: https://a.co/d/8cSGkT5) as a basis for discussion. We will also provide expansive time for questions regarding the Church and her life as well as information on how to proceed with becoming a catechumen in the Church with an aim at becoming an Orthodox Christian. Father Nicholas Finley will be part of most of the sessions which are being led by Active Parishioners of Nativity of the Virgin Mary.
